The high school teams remained in almost the same positions as the previous week in the school stock market competition, but in the middle school division, a team from Danville catapulted into first.
The last few weeks, a Danville team advised by Ashley Reidinger hovered around third, then fourth place. But in the past week, the eighth week of competition, adviser James Brennan’s team moved into the top spot over Lewisburg and Warrior Run.
Meanwhile, Lewisburg and Shamokin remained the top high school teams, as they have been in recent weeks.
In the stock market competition, teams of one or more students each manages a hypothetical investment of $ 100,000 in stocks, bonds and mutual funds and makes buying and trading decisions based on the stock market. The students whose investments make the most money win. The competition runs until April 21.
The Northumberland National Bank, The Daily Item and Bloomsburg University’s Zeigler College of Business are co-sponsoring the competition.
