Thousands of people gathered in Boardman on Friday night to take part in Mission Night Market.
The event raises funds for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
Once a month, Mission Night Market invites vendors, new businesses and even musicians to come together and share their products and programs for a good cause.
Nearly 50 vendors were in attendance on Friday.
The organizer says the idea actually came from a tradition in China.
“You would normally do your harvest and bring it to the market at night, so you would have a full days work and still have a party at the end. We kind of thought, why not have it here, in Ohio? It’s the perfect place to get out on a Friday night and support local vendor,” says event organizer, Christian Rinehart.
This was the second Mission Night market this summer and the organizer says attendance has doubled.
Another event is scheduled for August.
