Cashman: Democrats making Trump look good

A new high approval rating for President Trump has less to do with how he is performing and more to do with the Democrats’ gaffes and hard-left agenda.

Trump’s approval rating has hit 52 percent among likely voters, according to Rasmussen Reports — his highest since March, 2017, less than two months after he took office.

Some are attributing this nine-point bump in just ten days to his State of the Union address. Maybe, but it is hard not to give the Democrats some credit.

Their crowded 2020 presidential field has been a contest to see who can go farther to the left, to see if they can prove Trump right, after he labelled them as socialists.

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is pushing for a 70 percent tax on the wealthiest Americans.

U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris favors a single-payer health care system that would replace private insurance.

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t running for president, but she has most of the Democratic candidates signing on to her Green New Deal which would eliminate planes as part of her environmental plan. The bill reads in part: “Totally overhaul transportation by massively expanding electric vehicle manufacturing, build charging stations everywhere, build out high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary, create affordable public transit available to all, with goal to replace every combustion-engine vehicle”

Beyond their policies, Democrats continue to stumble.

Virginia is a total mess and an embarrassment for the party with the governor getting caught in an old yearbook photo in blackface, while his second-in-command was accused by two women of sexual assault and rape. The “believe all women” crowd who excoriated then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh are suddenly concerned about corroboration and due process.

Now, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, has had to apologize under pressure from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her anti-Semitic remarks on Twitter, where she claimed that Republican support for Israel is fueled by “the Benjamins baby” from pro-Israel groups like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

So, while the Democrats continue to implode, Trump is enjoying the bump to his base and getting the last laugh, tweeting: “The Democrats are so self-righteous and ANGRY! Loosen up and have some fun. The Country is doing well!”

We know he’s having fun!
