Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.13%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 5.98 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 3.56 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 2.08 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.54 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 0.96 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 1.69 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.86 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.77 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.68 per cent) and TIINDIA(down 0.66 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.13 per cent down at 13360.15.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 89.45 points at 17764.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 334.98 points at 60506.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.

Shares of , YES Bank, PNB, Tata Steel and were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of , , , and M&M Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while , , , Visaka Ind and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
