Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.26% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank(up 2.24 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 2.08 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.57 per cent), Axis Bank(up 1.16 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 1.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.21 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.58 per cent) and ICICI Bank(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.26 per cent at 41606.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 75.5 points at 17778.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 199.17 points at 60642.71.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of , YES Bank, PNB, and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of

, , , M&M Financial and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while , , , Nahar Capital and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
